Shaylyn was born into the world of dance with her mom and grandma both owning their own dance studios. Shaylyn started dance class when she started walking at 8 months old and performed in her first recital at just 11 months. Shaylyn quickly developed a passion for dance, she has trained under many world renown choreographers and grew up doing competitions all over the United States. She has won many national awards, top awards, high scores and scholarships in the field of dance. While dance took a lot of her time growing up she found time to also be a competitive figure skater, varsity cheerleader, and participated in musicals. Shaylyn has done some amazing things in her career she was on the professional hip hop team for the WNBA Seattle Storm for four years, semiprofessional musicals, did a national television commercial for TIVO, many radio voice overs, and auditioned for Broadway's "Gypsy" and Disney's "Shirley Temple" movie. She toured the United States in the summer of 2007 for three weeks with Dance Olympus in their summer VIP tour. She danced and performed in Las Vegas, Minneapolis, Omaha, and Boston. She has performed at Disneyland many times along with dancing on a cruise ship. She has also performed in the Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Florida and danced November 2009 in the Macy's Day Parade. Shaylyn also took to doing choreography at a young age. She's choreographed many competition pieces that have won various top ten, high score and choreography awards. Dance has been something that has meant a lot to Shaylyn in her life, and she looks forward to sharing her love for dance with her students at Rhythm and Soul!.
